Course content

The course assesses the changing role of Europe in the new world order. While the EU has long enjoyed a prominent position in global governance, the realignment of power relations poses a challenge to this regional organization. The course first examines the foreign policy of the EU, then proceeds to analyze the foreign policy of the EU and individual European states wherever necessary towards East Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Europe’s relations with major powers such China and Russia will also be discussed within the scope of the course.
