International Environmental Politics

Course content

United Nations is the leading institiution that has been shaping and framing international environmental politics through various tools and means. Currently the primary basis of international environmental cooperation relies on environmental treaties that reached to a significant number and variety in scope. Due to limitations of state centered governance models, public-private partnerships were developed as new mode of environmental governance to address environmental challenges timely and efficiently. This course is intended to explore and identify the role of the United Nations bodies, the function of environmental treaty regimes and potential of environmental partnerships within the context of various environmental challenges.
