What are elective courses and how do I choose them?

Electives are courses you choose yourself to fill credit requirements, in contrast to the compulsory (must-take) courses in your programme. METU programmes usually distinguish between technical or departmental electives and free or non-technical electives, each with its own rules about what counts. Your curriculum and advisor determine which electives fit your degree. Check your department's curriculum and confirm elective categories with your advisor before registering.
