Course content

Introducing the fundamental theories and approaches in translation studies; translating a variety of authentic English texts into Turkish; evaluating different translations of the same text within a contrastive analysis framework and by paying attention to the idiosyncrasies regarding tlıe unique nature of English and Turkish; understanding the role and İmportance of translation in language learning and teaching; assessing different translations with respect to style, word selection, and cultural contexts.
