Course content
The course introduces students to the field of corpus linguistics and its application in English language teaching and other applied fields of research. This course provides students with the opportunity (i) to explore the significance of using corpora and corpus findings in language research and/or teaching, and (ii) the subtleties and discussions surrounding building corpora for diverse purposes, (ii) to examine the tools and techniques for performing corpus analyses using various software and online/accessible corpora, (iii) carrying out corpus linguistic research in a focal aspect of the LI/L2/L3, and/or (iv) enhancing their ability to teach English using corpus research findings.
