Printed in the catalogue as VISUAL ARTS IN THE URBAN CONTEXT

Course content

This is an introductory course that aims to familiarize the students of the faculty of architecture with some basic concepts in the field of visual arts. While having a basic understanding of visual arts is a useful tool for everyone, the students of the faculty who have a direct interest in the production of space in everyday life would benefit from dwelling on these subjects which entail active looking, evaluating and responding to visual inputs. The urban space as a locus of development and fuel of modern art will be a major anchor in the discussions on the artistic developments of the modern world. The course is structured to create a learning environment in which these concepts could be located and related to the elements of the urban environment.
