Course content
Sampling of recent sediment for past ecosystem structure, dating. Sediment as source of biological information about the recent past of lake ecosystem, biological proxies in lake ecosystems. Botanical proxies: diatoms, pigments, plants, pollens. Zoological proxies: chironomids, cladocera, ostracods. Recent sedimentary biological data analysis for inferring the past ecosystem structure using transfer function: Graphical display of data, exploratory data analysis, Classification, zonation, and Ordination.
