Course content

This course is a continuation of ADM4145 Administration of Turkish Foreign Policy I and aims to provide a more in-depth analysis of the administration of Turkish foreign policy in the context of regional and global challenges. The course will focus on several main themes. First, it will examine the dynamics of Turkey's relations with its neighbors and regional powers, including the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Second, it will analyze the role of Turkey in international organizations and multilateral forums, such as the United Nations, NATO, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Third, the course will explore the impact of domestic politics and public opinion on Turkish foreign policy, examining how internal factors shape Turkey's external relations. Fourth, it will identify and assess the challenges and opportunities for Turkish foreign policy in the 21 st century, including issues such as energy security, migration, and terrorism. Finally, the course will examine the future prospects and scenarios for Turkish foreign policy, exploring potential trajectories and strategies for Turkey's engagement with the world.
